May 10 End of Season Dinner - Wyvern Club

G'day Melbourne RFC!

OK, so it's not REALLY the Melbourne from down under; it is Melbourne from near Derby. But, hey, it's only us that no that!

So what has happened to the President's XV game? Well, it's been combined in so much as our President, Westy, was getting plenty of support,  but bugger all commitment and could not therefore be sure of fielding a full XV. From out of the blue comes this call from Melbourne who are going to Torquay. They are playing a Newton Abbot XV on the Saturday and Teignmouth let them down for the Sunday. They only wanted to come and watch us play on Sunday, but were delighted to accept a full match when offered.

It will be a full on competitive end to the season. Melbourne look like a much stronger side than the Wyvern, so full support on the touchline to get the most out of our boys will be much appreciated. Ah, yes, memories of the Cheer Leaders from several years back spring to mind!

Don't plan anything else for Sunday afternoon as we will obviously want to support the Melbourne boys through there various rituals and traditions. See you all there!

Fishy is doing his bit for Charity!

"As many of you know I'm a serving voluntary crew member at the Burnham-On-Sea Lifeboat station.

Some two months ago I was given the challenge to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). My Challenge / or quest is to cycle with the help of a backup team to RNLI H.Q. in Poole Dorset. (This is some considerable Distance of around 90 miles) I am aiming to complete within the day and not get lost!!
